Boiler Operation Industry-Accreditation Programme (BOIAP)

Industry accreditation is critical for modern engineering companies, particularly companies that operate in sectors with high performance requirements such as power generation and oil and gas processing. The industry-based accreditation by held by an individual demonstrates their commitment to quality, safety, and reliability.


The Boiler Operation Industry-Accreditation Programme (BOIAP) is an industry-recognised qualification for boiler operators and boiler house managers developed by UCA along with its industry partners and regulatory bodies as reference; This programme is suitable for experienced boiler operators and fresh entrants from all education pathways.

Upon passing the BOIAP written and practical exams and verbal assessment for each level, candidates will receive the OGSP Level 1 Passport issued by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) and the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Green Card as a Certified Industrial Boiler Operator.

The BOIAP programme has a structured career pathway beginning with the Grade 2 and 1 Steam Engine Driver and progressing to Grade 2 and 1 Steam Engineer. Entrants may opt to enter the relevant level subject to their current qualification and accreditation.
